
Marisa Bono
Marisa Bono is a seasoned CEO, civil rights attorney, and social justice advocate with over two decades of leadership in law, public policy, and nonprofit management. She most recently served as CEO of Every Texan, a statewide policy research and advocacy organization, where she guided strategy, operations, and fundraising to advance equity in health care, education, and economic opportunity.
Previously, Marisa held senior roles as Chief Strategic Officer at VIA Metropolitan Transit and Chief of Policy for San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, leading transformative initiatives in transportation, housing, and workforce development. Earlier in her career, she was Southwest Regional Counsel at MALDEF, where she directed major litigation in education, immigration, and voting rights—including serving as lead counsel in landmark school funding cases.
A recognized thought leader, Marisa has testified before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, presented to the Texas Legislature, and lectured nationally at universities and law schools. Born and raised in San Antonio, she holds a J.D. and Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Rice University.
